Takashi Minakami

Fascinated by the versatility of Chinese cuisine, he pursued a culinary career after graduating from a culinary school in Hokkaido. Following experience at international hotels and in Hong Kong and Taiwan, he joined The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka in 2019 and became Executive Chef in 2022. He now creates innovative Chinese cuisine inspired by medicinal cooking, seasonal ingredients, and Chinese tea pairings.

Born in Jiangsu Province, China, he began his culinary career in Yangzhou and moved to Japan in 2007. Now Head Chef of Dim Sum at Xiang Tao, he combines the traditions of Yangzhou dim sum with Cantonese techniques to create elegant and innovative dishes.
